Thick, sweet, malty flavor with lots of warming alcohol. A peppery fruitiness (raisin and plums). Long, malty alcoholic finish. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2003 Golden alcohol appearance, no head or lacing. Very bocky aroma with presence of alcohol, aroma has hints of blueberry pancakes I think. Flavor is full of sugery fruit flavors with that cherry bock background, flavor is alcoholic as well. This isn't that bad, I think a little underrated for it's flavor. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

Aroma is sweet and malty. The taste is pretty much all malts, with some notes of alcohol, and sugar with a few notes of alcohol, but not as much as would be expected. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2005 pours orange and clear with a very weak malty nose, flavor is very nice, malty and sweet but offset by a nice amount of bittering hops. a medium body and smooth aftertaste, no hint of the abv anywhere. very enjoyable brew. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2008 33cl Bottle. Quiet salted apple flesh aroma. Malty and plain. A bit of oat bread. Yeast tang. Kind of bland. Pours a crystal clear henna with a fading bubbles in savanna. Flavor is dominated by sweet french toast, reduced lemon sugars and alcohol. A bit tart. Brandy-like fruits and raisins. The spritzy carbonation keeps this one lively and palatable, otherwise it might be unbearably sweet. Light age fatigue. Really, the malt character isn’t that deep and the alcohol pervasive. A coarse, grainy hop smack shows up the back flow. Clean and refined tasting, but I just want more from my eisbock in terms of nuance, characterful flavor. I would have expected more depth in alcohol as well, for a beer frozen out. Always interesting to try an eisbock. Thanks Sean!
