Malty aroma and malty taste. As this beer warmed, I understood why it came with that glass - this beer does not mess around with its alcohol. In fact, that was about all that I could appreciate about this beer. If you do not appreciate spirits (not the ghost kind), then you should stay away from this beer. Or else grab a 6-pack of this stuff and have a party with the russian girl living across the street from you. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2004 Frothy, off-white head which diminishes fully. Virtually no lace. Normally clear, orange body. Yeasty (dough), hoppy (flowers) and port aroma. Moderately acidic, lightly bitter initial flavour. Lightly acidic, lightly bitter (long-lasting) finish. Fully bodied. Lively carbonation. Moderately alcoholic feel. WabashMan (815), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2003 A nice dark orange/amber color with little head that is gone within a minutre or so starts off this beer. I have to agree with Oakes's Samichlaus reference, as the aroma is very similar. However, not quite as strong! Flavor is also "samichlaus-esque"...again not quite as strong. really, I think this beer has been treated harshly...the flavor is far from undrinkable, in my opinion. Not the best brew...but it has the potential to age very well, I think! DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2007 Had a bottle at the Root Bar in Swannanoa, which has a pretty decent selection of imports available. Poured a deep orange-amber color with a fluffy tan head. The alcohol in this beer is very prominent, which, honestly, was the reason why I chose this beer to begin with, so I was satisfied. Haven’t had too many Eisbocks, but it’s a style I’ll happily imbibe in the future. barenada (211), Georgetown, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2006 (draft) Had a strange flavor that I’ve never been able to accurately describe in this type of beer. Very thick, almost syrupy flavor. The alcohol was quite evident. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2008 Pours like the picture. Nose is malt heavy and sweet with raisin, brown sugar, and alcohol. Flavor is similar, a little saltier, heavily sweet and sugary, more alcohol. Medicinal with warmth. Syrupy body, short finish of bread and alcohol. Decent, but a little one sided.
