Hot vanilla sweetness...Pours clear slightly reddish orange with one finger of biege head. Nose is sweet sugar-candy malt. Palate is smooth and syrupy. Taste is quite hot, lots of vanilla and sugar candy sweetness. Like drinking a hot liquer. I like this style but this one I wouldn’t recommend. KnutAlbert (3139), Oslo, Norway
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 6, 2007 Brown, clear beer. Smells of sweet malt. Very vinous aroma, strong kick of alcohol. Flowery sweet, though there are hops here, too, avoiding a too cloying sweetness. Hint of sherry or port, some burned sugar. rayg1 (438), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Pours a deep amber color with a thin tan head that leaves quickly. This beer has a strong malty caramalized sugar and toffee smell to it, a bit of brown sugar and dark fruits at the end of the sniff. Taste is again more caramel and toffee. Sweetness is present but not too sweet or overpowering. I feel this is a fairly balanced beer, alcohol is noticable though. I need to let this warm up a bit and sip again. Rich, full bodied, and very sweet, it’s got heavy carbonation to keep things from getting to syrupy and to mask the alkie burn just a bit. Lots and lots of caramel malts tend to mask some of the distinctiveness of the eisbock style, but it’s certainly a fairly pleasant rendtion. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2009 120z bottle. clean and coppery in color. pours with a slightly yellowed head. has a big malty sweet nose. distinctly german style malt aroma.fuity candied apricot comes to mind. rich thick and sappy mouthfeel. prickly carbonation marries well with a hop flavor that is mildly spicy and a tad sharp. sherry or port this is not. for starters its carbonated. but i see the comparison because desert it is. sweet and full pair with? i’m not sure-a cup of coffee? ha Derek881 (495), Frederick, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. The beer has a nice, healthy aroma featuring some pine and earthy hops, with some dark fruit scents, and a candy malt contrast. The beer has a clear, orange-amber color with a very small, and quickly fading, white head. It tastes mostly bitter and has some sourness, but very little sweetness, with a slight fruit effect; there is definitely a presence of alcohol at the finish. Starts off wet on the palate, but becomes drier at the finish, a lighter mouthfeel, with tingly carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer given the alcohol content and relative inexpensiveness. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2007 Pours a very clear amber with a quickly disintegrating head. Definite sweetness and maltiness in the nose--and both those traits flavor the beer, too. The alcohol is fairly well hidden, but there is so much of it that it still sticks out.
