Commercial Description:
This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Medium orange-gold color, medium head. A medium bodied beer. Malty and slightly sweet. Taste is more like a sherry or port than a beer, but EKU 28 retains its beer character. Nice hop bite. Big bold beer. Mouthfeel is full and expansive. Finish is clean and smooth. Noticeable alcohol bite (11%). Aftertaste is malty and slightly sweet. Slight oily texture to this beer. A bit overpowering.

Bottle. Pours apple juice colored w/ a thin white head. Aroma is, oddly, scotch whisky. Taste is all kinds of malty, toffee, raisin, caramel, et cetera, et cetera. No hops to speak of. A little on the overly sweet side, but still good.

bottle. Copper pour, with a small white head. Slightly sweet fruity aroma. Sweet flavor as well, a little boozy as well. Pretty good.

Strong aroma of Banana bread and walnut. Pours a dark yellow amber with a full finger head. Rather pungent bourbony flavor. Not what I expected. Notes of malt and sticky pine, maybe caramel. Alcohol isnt hidden at all.

Copper with quick dissolving head. Alcohol, sugar, pine, light sour touches, with warming syrupy grapefruits, apricots, pears dancing on a drying finish. There were notes of apples, grapes and honey in this aromatic and warming brew. This one is probably best for after dinner or before bed. The abv is high, and the alcohol is present, but fairly well integrated into the whole of the brew.

(bottle) Clear amber colour with a small creamy white head. Sweet malty and fruity nose with hints of alcohol. Intense sweet flavour. Toastmalty taste with dried fruits and caramel and an alcoholic slightly hopbitter finish. Definitely not bad but it probably tastes better on a cold winter evening.

Medium amber color - very opaque. Aroma of malts, toffee and a hint of whiskey. Flavor is strong with alcohol, crisp and kind of cloying sweetness.

fresh: oops i dropped a sugardaddy candy in my dog's food..oh wait, nevermind, that was the aroma of this beer...what do you get when you take a farm's load of barley malt, absolutely no hops, too much sugar, and some yeast??...this horrifically strong tasting brew!... I heard that suicide bombers in Afghanistan drink this right before they die so to take their minds off of the pain of dying...sorta like biting your lip when you stub your toe...substituting one pain for another...so if you ever stub your toe or plan on bombing a discotech or subway train..this beers for you (1.8) 1992 version, drank 2004: Wow, what a frickin' improvement..this was like a chocolate malt shake...similiar to an aged samiclaus.
