Fruity aroma with notes of chocolate combined with fresh bubblegum aroma. Sweet flavours initially, then more acidic fruitiness, dry finish. Medium to light body. Still a highly complex brew and keeping up well after 17 years in the bottle. Magicdave6 (5558), London, Greater London, England

Aroma is of feet with a sour banananess going on. Taste is similar with a sort of red wine vinigar going on, nice sourness. An excellent refreshing beer, unexpectidly so. Surprisingly a fluffy beige head. Sour aroma with dark fruits. Flavour is raisins and prunes and clove. The expected banana is all gone with the age. carlitos99 (184), The Big Apple, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2005 Pretty aged bottle; there is a question as to where this is brewed. It used to be Deininger Kronenbräu at Hof - at least until the nineties, the brewing of top-fermenting beer was prohibited in the town of Kulmbach. Good head, receding rapidly; hazy dark brown with orange shine. Sweet bread, cookies, Pumpernickel, banana- and other yeastesters. Sourish - wheaty taste, again dark bread, but much drier than the nose. Every sip ends with the same characteristic sourish wheattaste. Flavour not unlike a lemon-cheesecake. Rather well-bodied, typically wheat fills in, despite its characteristic acidity. In the aftertaste, a bit of nuttiness and pears, are the only signs of aging. Very good sample of the style, better than the other Weizenbeers IMO (Berliner not counting). oh6gdx (9104), Vasa, Finland
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Bottled (some old dusty vintage). Deep amber colour, mediumsized foamy head. Nicely madeiraish notes in the nose. Flavour is raisins, plum and also has some mildl dark fruits and spices. Mild toasted notes in the background too.
