Commercial Description:
A truly great Pils, a little maltier and more ‘Bavarian’ than the rest. The 6-packs are brand new for the American market.

Bottled. Poured BMC pale gold with a pure white small head. Aroma is slightly skunked with a bit of green apple acetaldehyde. Flavor is of moderate noble hops (hallertau ?) and malty with a slight acidity. Mouthfeel is thin like most pils. Not bad, not great.

Light gold color. Medium to large sized white foamy head. Aroma is grass and grain. A medium bodied pilsner. Malts are grainy and grassy. Hops are herbal and slightly spicy. Sweetish pilsner, touch of corn and a touch of wet cardboard. All in all a very drinkable pilsner. Not a lot of flavor but fairly decent. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Hotel Grüner Baum, Bad Staffelstein: tap. Soapy, malty flavor. Hops, yes, they’re there, but the emphasis is on the malt, although the hops return in the aftertaste. Nothing wrong with this one.

lemon-drop yellow, bright as a watch gear, and the head was a poof of white like you’d dropped a wad of goose down in a blender. this is a straight forward quencher, it’s job is to look pretty in a gleaming pilsner glass and align all of it’s molecules in a straight and slippery fashion so as to slide down your throat effortlessly and leave just a little vapor trail of flowery hops. and so it does. sunny aroma of apple jelly, plus corn cob and wax and maybe even a banana chip. busy carbonation, and that slightly unripe apple peel bitterness is actually a careful dose of dry hops that lock horns with a grassy malt whisper of sweetness. the struggle doesn’t really warm up, nor does it reach any conclusion, it just hums with barely audible balance. i’d like to say more, but my 12 ounces is long gone and now i’m ready for something stronger.

Bottle: Crystal golden hue with a lasting fizzy head and good lace in my flute glassware. The aroma has notes of grassy and herbal hops, bready malts, and hints of honeycomb. The taste is primarily grassy noble hops and a background of sweetbread. Lingering mild bitterness on the finish. The feel isn’t as crisp as I would like but still refreshing. Overall, an okay bier but nothing to seek out.

Out of a bottle, golden and clear, a generousy frothy white foam cap. I thought it was evenly balanced malt and hops. Slight bitterness but quickly finished. After a long day a good one if you like your beer on the colder side.

Bottle. Mild grainy, slightly hoppy aroma. Clear yellow/gold with frothy white head with good retention and some lacing. Bitter and dry but fairly well balanced overall. Some maltiness became more apprarent as beer warmed up. Slight alcohol detectable in flavor. Medium carbonation, light body. Dry finish.
