Lightly malty and roasty, not very soft mouthfeel. Hints of wood and smoke in the finish. Many thanks to Oakes, Linc(?) and especially Canada Post for letting me sample an Argentinian rauchbier... | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 3, 2003 Hazy dark red-brown. Aroma of toast, chocolate and wood. Astringent coffee and charcoal taste. I'll admit I like my rauchbier very phenolic, so this disappoints in that regard. Still, I look forward to trying this fresh down at the El Bolson Cerveceria y Camping on a future Patagonia expedition. faroeviking (6127), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Bottle. Cloudy black body. Heavy roasted malty flavour. Surprisingly not so smoked a taste as one would suspect though somw what bitter with a nice chocolate touch to it. Good average aftertaste. anders37 (4792), Malmö, Sweden

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2004 Yumm. Basically the same beer as their Negra Extra, just with smoke added. Very lightly smoked, so don’t be scared off. Schwarzbier body. Excellent. A real Argentine surprise but try the Danskeren beer, it’s EVEN BETTER! TheGrandMaster (1877), Auckland, New Zealand
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 7, 2007 Bottle conditioned, black with a filmy beige head. Athe aroma was not so smoky, but more a charcoal aroma with some astringency. A little like marmite yeast. The palate was very astringent. Sweet malt and cherry flavour, hoppy as well. They haven’t quite pulled off this one for me. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 1, 2003 Dark brown color. Smoke in a sweet malty, lightly organic nose. Smooth with a very light body. Little smoke and sweet with a light touch of hops towards the end. Finishes thin and not quite as smokey as I like.
