Very lightly smoked, so don’t be scared off. Schwarzbier body. Excellent. A real Argentine surprise but try the Danskeren beer, it’s EVEN BETTER! faroeviking (6100), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Bottle. Cloudy black body. Heavy roasted malty flavour. Surprisingly not so smoked a taste as one would suspect though somw what bitter with a nice chocolate touch to it. Good average aftertaste. Linc (736), Sydney, Australia

Nutty, burnt caramel flavour, thick body with a well rounded finish. omhper (12244), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 26, 2003 Bottled. Black with beige head. Vinuos nose. Lightly malty and roasty, not very soft mouthfeel. Hints of wood and smoke in the finish. Many thanks to Oakes, Linc(?) and especially Canada Post for letting me sample an Argentinian rauchbier... anders37 (4747), Malmö, Sweden

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 17, 2003 A malty aroma with a faint smokiness. A dark brownish black which turns to a dark plum color with brown edges when light is held behind it. A thin tan head that disappears in the blink of an eye. Malt dominates the flavor with a peat smoke flavor. Yeast flavor is also evident, as is a slight butteriness and vanilla. While this beer had no head, fizzy carbonation was still present. Medium mouthfeel and a little acidic.
Negra Ahumada and the Miel are both prone to severe yeast/contamination problems that result in undrinkable, fizzing monstrosities. When a good bottle is found, you are enjoying one of the better beers of Argentina. davidpl (435), Santiago, Chile

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 1, 2003 Dark brown color. Smoke in a sweet malty, lightly organic nose. Smooth with a very light body. Little smoke and sweet with a light touch of hops towards the end. Finishes thin and not quite as smokey as I like.
