El Toro Negro Oatmeal Stout

Dark pour with an off white head. Aroma is roasty and sweet with some grain. Flavor is malty with some bitterness.

From the Jug at the GABF Colorado Convention Center, Denver 09/10/2008 Roast aroma. Beige head. Black smooth on the palate fruity and hoppy with a dry lasting burnt roast finish.

12oz. Pour is deep black with a small dark brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, slight chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is full of roasted goodness, coffee, and vanilla. The body was somewhat thin and watery in this guy. Drinkable but nothing too great.

Thanks to JMFG. Great aroma coming out of this. Smoke, toasted malts and chocolates. Flavor is lighter than the aroma would suggest, but still good. More chocolate and toast.

12oz bottle. Opaque blackness, rusty orange-tan head that fades away into soapy patches after a few sips. Sweet chocolate aroma with a touch of pungency to it. Sweet and malty with a watery smooth finish, this is an awesome, sessionable example of a Sweet/Caribbean Stout, not really so much capturing the Oatmeal. Creamy and smooth, with lots of chocolate malt flavor.

Very nice roasted aroma with licorice. The flavor is licorice, oatmeal, dark chocolate, and burned malts leading to a bitter finish. Pretty light bodied ,and lacking oomph (strange word to type) but otherwise, a nice stout.

Draft @ Jacks Canery, SF. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Smooth roasted malty chocolate and licorice flavor. Has a smooth roasted malty licorice finish.

This is a sweet stout in more than one way. Poured black with a small tan head. Coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt one the aroma and flavor. Smooth palate with low carbonation, incredibly drinkable.
