I really dug this stuff, although it was a bit light for my taste. ericnixon (719), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA

but it was served way too cold. It had a somewhat weak, yet mellow taste. JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 25, 2003 Black, opaque, and with the aroma of a thick stout. I sort of missed with me. Flavor is roasted, milky and malty sweet. The body is what sort of leaves it lacking to me. Thin, like a pale ale. Finish is sweet and roasty. Good, but not great. hopscotch (5483), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 18, 2003 Updated: Feb 11, 2007Bottle... Co-rated with my four-year-old nephew... Ok, ok, he only contributed to the comments regarding appearance and aroma... Pours black with a small, creamy, well-tanned head and minimal lacework (my nephew believes the head is white. Ok, so colors are not one of his stronger points). Smells like a bear... so my nephew says. I doubt he’s ever smelled a bear. The nose is actually of milk chocolate, vanilla and buttermilk.
The flavor is thin and watery, but has some nice milk chocolate notes.
Light-bodied and softly carbonated.
Short, watery finish. Tastes great; smells great, but not a lot of body. GreatStelle (360), Chico, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2003 Nice dark color with a tan head. Pretty light on the stout flavors. Really it's not a whole lot of flavor. However it is very easy for a stout. For non-stout fans this may change your mind. Traditional stout people may find this week. But enjoyable. scrawfis (143), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 19, 2003 Very dark, with a thick tannish head.
Aroma - Mixture of fresh and roasted malt.
Flavor - Rich chocolate malt with slight flavors of coffee. Very Good flavor, overall could be a little smoother. loweredsixth (942), Fresno, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2003 Dark black color (opaque) with a large beige head. The aroma was huge with roasty tones, some coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and some slight bitterness. The flavor was not as strong, but held up the dominant roastiness through to the aftertaste. The feel was a little dissappointing...rather thin and watery for an oatmeal stout. Nice overall. herbjones (742), Orange, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 20, 2003 Pitch black, showing no light. Thick tan head that diminishes fairly quickly. Nice roasty nose. Medium/light body with lively carbonation and a fairly creamy mouthfeel.Nice chocolate notes in the finish along with some bitterness. Plenty of roasted malt coming across the front with just the right amount of sweetness. Big thanks to beerguy101 for this beauty.
