Apr 10, 2006 12oz bottle. Poured a dark, dark black with an averaged sized dark tan head. Nice looking. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and light oatmeal. Tastes of roasted malts, licorice, chocolate, and light coffee. Tastes were a little on the thin side (I guess I expected more after the aroma). Creamy and somewhat lively body.

Jul 28, 2003 Dark brown/black color with a thin fizzy tan head. Aroma of sweet oats and a touch of roasted malt. Body is lightly sweet and rich with a strong hoppy bitterness. Finishes bitter and chalky with some coffee tones. This could use a touch more sweetness and some balance.
