Aroma and flavors of honey and light apples dominate and take away from the malt and hops. Why gum up the mash, if you aren’t going to use a proper yeast? kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

Poured a hazy yellowish golden with a large foamy, fluffy white head, good retention, plenty of ringed sticking.
Aromas of a bread powdery, lemon honey and a very light spiciness.
Good carbonation and a crisp, smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Kind of bland tasting, lemon bubble gum, a bland wheat grassy, a soft spice hoppiness towards the end and a dry malty finish.
A passable wheat ale, but not one I would want on a regular basis, can’t see myself drinking more than two bottles of this without becoming bored.

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Appearance: Pours a very light, clear yellow body with a decent white head.
Smell: Faint aroma of lemons, wheat, and even less spicy hops.
Taste: Exeptionally faint toasted wheat flavor with a light sweetness. The finish, if you can really call it that, has only the lightest touch of hops.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Pretty dull and lackluster even for an American Wheat Ale. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 27, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold body with a one finger fizzy white head that left some sparce lacing. Fairly light aroma with a bit too much diacetyl for my tastes. Some light wet hay and murky yeast. Too much diacetyl on the flavor as well, not too much else really. Some lightly tart wheat and light yeastiness. Light bodied with a slightly sticky buttery finish and moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was pretty bad. A heavily flawed beer. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 11, 2001 Clear, golden and headless with typical American Standard aromas, this is an American Wheat. Taste is slightly sweet and malty with significant bitter. Finish is blunt and clean. Some interesting bandage flavors but I was expecting more from the Bill Jones signature beer. El Toro is quietly building itself into a West Coast brewing powerhouse but this beer is no evidence of that.
