Bottle pored brown with a tan head. Aromas of licorice, figs, and spices. Palate is on the heavy side but acceptable in a winter ale. Flavors of nuts, figs, raisens, and spices with a bitter finish.

Mildly hoppy aroma, rubyish brown color. Very little head. Spicy flavor, but not overwhelming. Warming all the way down.

Pours a nice ruddy brown with a whispy tan head that evaporates quickly. Aroma is hoppy and laced with spices. Very broad flavor, but light on the tongue. Sweet and hoppy with a spicy leave and the ping of a higher alcohol content. VERY nice.

Very nicely baalnced. Good malt with some dark roast and bready notes. Good transition from malt sweetness to dry hop bitterness. Some mild nutty characters and clean finish

Pours amber with no head. Aromas malty sweet, with some spices. Powerful flavor, very malty, smooth, alcohol blends nicely with the sweetness. Yes this is a very nice American Strong Ale.

02.19.05 Tap at Toronado BWF Paler amber, golden. Belgie and funky. Not at all making me think barleywine (and now I know why). Hops mostly aromatic, only spicey presence in flavor. Decent stuff from yet another brewer I’d never heard of at the fest.

Draft. Amber color with an off-white head. Sweet malt aroma and flavors. A bit of vanilla. Fairly clean and easy to drink, but not outstanding.

Tap @ Toronado Barley Wine Festival. Amber color with a tan head. Lots of hops in the nose.
