pivo (2488), Germany Jul 9, 2002 - 1995 : Huge malty nose and a deep, ruddy carmel color. Wow, is this stuff like brandy! All malt and very little bitter (or carbonation for that matter), but earthy undertones, particularly in the finish. High alcohol: almost ’burns’ going down - kinda medicinal. Thick and syrupy - a meal itself. Complex and well-balanced with a long flavor profile. Mature and challenging taste reserved for a special occasion. Re-Rate for ’98: Fruity, raisin-like nose with hints of banana - very powerful. Super sweet - like brown sugar. Latent alcohol burns the throat. Sophisticated and extremely good.
CaryTheDude (436), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. A brew that will make your balls drop. It might put hair on your chest and then other areas of your body you weren’t even aware of, aight? Lots of raisens and fruits on the nose, and bourbon-y-ness. A excellent beer, but I fear for your soul if you try to crush this on your own. Shared it with 5 bras, and it fixed each of us enough. Sparky27 (683), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Nov 18, 2008 1994 vintage courtesy of Crosling. Aggressive pour results in a murky bog brown with about 65 bubbles that form a ring around the glass. Nose is molasses, sweet dark fruits and toasted caramel. Taste is brown sugar, dates, booze, raisins and more molasses with some woody/oaky earthiness finishing it out. Flat, but creamy mouth feel (Hell, it’s 14 years old). Very tasty complex brew. Thanks for sending it Nick (twice)! yespr (7121), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 28, 2008 Kulminator: 25 cL bottle, 1982 vintage, #28547. Pours hazy dark brown with with a fully gone head. Aroma is distinct wineous and fruity. Mild acidic too. Acidic and and wineous fruity flavoured. Smoothly going into a lovely fruity flavour into the finish. Very surprised by this. BeerSlacker (30), Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2008 1982 vintage, # 26487. Enjoyed in 2007. Dark brown head, with excellend carbonation. Ruby/red body. Dark cherry nose, with heat detectable. Big molasses flavour throughout, with light alcoholic heat in the finish. Flavours of woody, toffee linger on the tongue. Big, complex, savory -- outstanding.
