| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 12, 2007 12oz bottle: Pours a deep golden with almost no head. Aroma is sweet with caramel and toffee with no detectable hops. The sweetness continues in the taste and this beer appears to be off for the style. The palate is thin, not bad but not notable. Now that I’ve tried it I don’t expect to have another. Too bad because I like supporting the local brewers. drewbeerme (2315), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Pours almost brown like a dingy copper penny thats seen better days. Froth is shallow w/ minimal hangtime. Residual lacing is minimal also. Aromas of aged citrus rind. Medium nectar w/ soft residual effers. This brew is weak. The hop profile has been stunted. It’s like an over the hill English version w/ it’s creamy texture and dead to the world citrus sludge. Don’t get me wrong. I actually like it. It’s very drinkable, just doesn’t compete w/ it’s style. Theres a nice biscuit tone on the flavor. When I sip theres a sharp, short lived, stab of hop shard that is quickly deminished by the forward malt component. Finishes w/ a nice hop bittering yet still a little weak. CaptainCougar (5539), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 28, 2007 Botlle courtesy of cbkschubert: Pours a slightly hazy copper orange with a thin ring of off-white head. Toasty sweet sugary caramel aroma has some earthy piny and grapefruity hoppiness to it. Body starts fairly full and sweet with a lot of caramel candy maltiness and some drier earthy bittering hops showing up toward the finish. Has some lingering astringency and slight metallic character, but really reminds me most of a malt extract homebrew. Not a bad beer, just not in the same league as a lot of other IPAs. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 27, 2007 Murky amber color with a short lived off white head. Strange aroma of soggy hops and cardboard. Caramel sweetness with some toffee and almost burnt sugar. The hops are relatively subtle and come out in the finish as stale orange juice and something metallic. Interesting IPA, but not what I expect from the style. Thanks to cbkshubert for the bottle. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 6, 2007 Bottle thanks to cbkshubert, thanks Craig. Poured a hazy amber body with thin head. Aroma is of a sweet malt and citrus. Flavor is bitter with a decent citrus aftertast to it. Threw off my expectations of an IPA. LinusStick (1855), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 19, 2007 Got this in trade from cbkschubert...thanks man! This is a good IPA. While I like them hoppier, this was not bad. The pour was a hazy orange with a one finger head. The aroma had no hops from what I could tell..all malt here. The taste was like IPA 101. Sweet and malty in the beginning and hops shoving their way through in the end. This is an easy drinking IPA that 2 old men should share sitting on a porch. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Pours a clear apple-juice amber color, briefly topped by an eighth of an inch of white foam. This reduces to a thin cap and a ring in a moment or two. Just slight traces of lacing. Lightly sweet aroma of candied apple with a trace of hops.
There is a sweet toasted malt character that has some other type of sweetness in it - it isn’t fruity or malty or candi sugar, but it is somehow just plain old sweet. The hop presence is a little more pronounced than the malt, with a little tangy grapefruit flavor. It has a very nice dry malt and long bitter hop finish. Medium body, light carbonation.
Nice balance in a tasty but somewhat tamer version of an American IPA.
