After it’s release from the 12-ounce brown bottle, the beer pours a slightly cloudy deep amber color with a modest frothy off white head that after its evaporation leaves a thin but concealing sheet of lace upon the glass. Nose has a slight hint of hops, with a nice almost cotton candy like tone also noticed, crisp and fresh, start is lightly sweet with a pleasant grain presence and the top light to middling in feel. Finish is persistent in its acidity, the hops delectably spicy and the aftertaste dry, a nice drinking beer, quite refreshing after a long hard day of work

Pours a clear apple-juice amber color, briefly topped by an eighth of an inch of white foam. This reduces to a thin cap and a ring in a moment or two. Just slight traces of lacing. Lightly sweet aroma of candied apple with a trace of hops. There is a sweet toasted malt character that has some other type of sweetness in it - it isn’t fruity or malty or candi sugar, but it is somehow just plain old sweet. The hop presence is a little more pronounced than the malt, with a little tangy grapefruit flavor. It has a very nice dry malt and long bitter hop finish. Medium body, light carbonation. Nice balance in a tasty but somewhat tamer version of an American IPA.

Pours a cloudy dirty orange with a creamy, off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly to a thin skin. The nose is pretty nice: a big hit of piny and citric hops paired with a bready/biscuity malt note. It smells like a well-hopped APA with an ESB malt bill. Light to medium-bodied and slick with soft carbonation and a moderately bitter and toasty finish. Like the nose, this one tastes like a hybrid of an ESB and a hoppy APA. Those are two styles that I enjoy, and the result is a uniquely tasty and very drinkable beer. I like it.

Pours a brilliantly clear deep copper almost amber color. It is topped by a frothy pale tan colored head that has hints of amber to it. The aroma is sweet and hoppy with notes of candied orange peel, grapefruit, toasty malt, and sweet caramel. The taste is lightly sweet up front with just a touch of biting hops. The finish is long and sweet with lots of malt, which is most noticeable as a lingering sweet caramel note that has a hint of candied citrus to it.

This is a really nice, easy drinking beer with lots of uncharacteristic flavor in it; sorry but it is true this is orders of magnitude above the other products from this brewery. There is a nice sharp bitterness to this beer, and while it may be tame compared to many IPAs, it balances the sweet malt character quite well. The malt sweetness really helps to accentuate the fruity hop notes as well; I get notes of candied orange peel, sweet ruby-red grapefruit, a bit of astringent herbal notes and a touch of menthol and pine. Quite nice, this is a beer that I would be happy to sit down and quaff at the bar. It is perhaps a bit to sweet with a bit too much crystal malt, but certainly not enough to keep this from being enjoyable.

Bottle: Dark orange color, light head and lacing. The nose is earthy with some pine and citrusy and a nice sweet maltyness. The flavor is thick and chewy with a light sweetness and resinous hop note. The finish is clean and dry, well rounded, with a bit of funk that accents the earthy complex hops. It’s a bit light in the hops and comes across fairly bland, but it has some body and malt notes that most IPAs lack.
