dwyerpg (2143), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 13, 2008 A light malt aroma. This is much sweeter than I expected. Bartender says this was aged in bourbon barrels, but not getting much of that here. This is much less maltier than I expected, but pretty good.

A surprisingly flawless alt. Possibly my favourite beer during my night at Elevator.

Hazy light browing orange covered by a lasting off-white head. Seriously authentic maltiness with unfocused, but obvious toastiness, drying nutty depth, barely fruity - just an occasional glimpse, minimal cerealic notes and an undistinct barrier where you lose sight of hop vs. malt character as it becomes earthy, leafy and growingly bitter by the sip. That’s an alt.

Perhaps just a bit over the sweet fence, though never in a vulgar fashion. Aurelius (2517), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 18, 2008 Updated: Sep 22, 2008Medium leather brown, thin tapioca head. Sweet, candied, strawberry-peach aroma - blind you might have guessed a raspberry beer. Tangy, fruity, pretty well-hopped with European standards. Slightly astringent finish, a little metal, slick mouth that breaks crisp. A little heavy-bodied - I suspect a modified IPA recipe. Light diacetyl - buttery. decaturstevo (1335), decatur, Tennessee, USA Sep 17, 2008 Amber pour with a tight white head and lace. Brown sugar and light caramel maltiness and a hint of abv and a good bitter. Solid mouthfeel and carbonation. Very nice a solid beer. Tmoney99 (3740), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 13, 2008 Draft at brewpub. Poured clear brown color with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium toasted balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind. Dogbrick (2350), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 26, 2008 On draught at the brewpub. This brew is a clear dark amber color with a medium and rocky light beige head that diminishes slowly. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of earthy malt and caramel, along with some fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of malt and fruit, and an odd bubblegum flavor at times. Light hops in the background as well. The finish is malty and sweet, with a lingering nutty and malty aftertaste. Decent overall, but I definitely wanted to like this more as good Altbiers are pretty scarce in these parts.
