7/20/2007: Elevator Belgian Wit is a cloudy, pale yellow color with a foamy white head. Wheat, light citrus and some spice are in the aroma. The flavor is a bit sour and grassy with some lemon citrus. There is a mild amount of alcohol that seems to sneak into the flavor as well. This is not a typcial Witbier and definitely was not as expected. It was more like a poor attempt at a Farmhouse Ale or something. It was a bit disappointing to say the least...

Draught at Lucky’s in Athens, Ohio during the Ohio Brew Week 2007. Rating #9 for this beer...

Mid-hazed pale golden with a white halo when served. Clove, florals and... mystery spices in the aroma add allure and intrigue. Thin-bodied with a wheat base flavor smothered by flowers and spice. Interesting, yet seemingly incorrect.

Nose of yeast & spice, pears & bananas and oddly enough - pickles. The brew is cloudy golden honey. The quick white frothy head leaves no lace. Well balanced, heavy acidity, with a very briney metallic finish that all but ruins the flavor. The light body is dry and soft. Can’t help but wonder if there was something wrong mechanically with the tap system on this one. Thanks to Jana for the sample.

Hazy pale yellow color. Some citrus aroma, but could just be the lemon slice. Mild citrus and wheat flavor. Not much in the way of spice flavoring. Still, drinkable and thirst quenching.

Frosted lemondrop color, lacy head. Orangeblossom aroma. Esteric and phenols. Bubblegum and cereal flavors. Finishes out tart. Pleasant.

Draft at The Elevator. Cloudy pale color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus banana spice aroma. Light body with lively carbonation. Light sour citrus flavor with a light sweet finish of moderate duration. Refreshing summer beer.

This is the June selection in Elevator’s "MBA" program. This is the first seasonal from the Elevator that has been poorly done. It is also the first time I have had the equivalent of a "drain pour" at a brewpub, being unable to come close to finishing it. Served with a slice of orange. The beer is cloudy yellow/gold with a thin white head that diminishes quickly. Slick lacing. Aroma of light spices and citrus. Light-bodied and crisp with a zesty spice and citrus flavor for a split second, then an immediate blast of soap and moldy yeast flavor that is wince-inducing. Moreover, this unpleasant flavor seems to coat the tongue and stay there. The finish is no better, as any of the good flavors are overpowered by the lingering moldy wet dish rag flavor. Maybe an off batch but I will be scared to ever try this again.

From notes: Pale and carbonated. Small sweetness combined with coriander. Floral. Pretty good for a wit.
