Info: 500ml bottle, 27/6-2006, 131/300 bierkoning (4573), La Tropica, Netherlands Apr 29, 2008 Bottled. Deep dark brown color. Malt and a hint of laurel in the soft nose. Malty sweet flavor with licorice and apple syrup. Tasty, although watery mild. Likeable. SilkTork (3777), Rochester, Kent, England Feb 24, 2008 Dec, 2002 From this fifth generation family owned East Anglian small brewery comes this award winning traditional dark mild. A good woody nose with a hint of dark fruits, and a wonderfully smooth but full flavoured palate with a gentle sweetness to offset the roasty, nutty flavours, and a zippy touch of iced lemon tea to clean the mouth. A very refreshing and fulsome brew. [3.0] DruncanVeasey (1499), Burbage, Germany Jan 16, 2008 Rummaging in the BHS selection bucket again. Nose roasted but sweetly chocolatey, with vanilla and oak aplenty. Virtually pitch and heaped with beige froth. Faint bonfire and coffee smokiness, grain and tobacco. Aftertaste sweet, lingering, mealy and milky, but I like it. Characterful, stouty, schwarzbier-like mild of the kind you could drink by the bucketload all evening without falling over.
