Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Sep 20, 2004 Hand pulled at the Bartons Arms, Birmingham. Autumn leaves colour, with no head. Wonderfully balanced: moments of sweet fruit, with a sour tang which holds well into the finish. Honey, spice, lemon. Delicious. Joeh (1892), Buckinghamshire, England Mar 18, 2004 Cask Conditoned, Royal Standard, Wooburn Common, Bucks. A very tasty ale. Plenty bitter. Fin (2188), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Mar 31, 2008 Cask at The Bell, Banbury, Oxon, 31-03-08 Pours golden with a medium white head, looks very nice! Good honey straight away but there is a nice stinging and surprisingly good bitter bite to this beer, nice hoppiness, and really rather tasty. That’s four very decent beers tonight I’m glad I was able to make the CAMRA meeting. cgarvieuk (2384), Edinburgh, Scotland Apr 8, 2008 cask at JDW ... amber ... light fruity nose ... quite a malty light fruit front with a good dose of hops ... chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Jun 4, 2006 Cask (handpump) at the Carlton Arms, Cambridge, May 2006. The commercial description says it all really. A traditional English style bitter with a good balance of dry malt and earthy hop. Nice smooth, easy drinking, mouthfeel. Not an ambitious beer but it does what it does pretty well
