SilkTork (3939), Rochester, Kent, England Dec 12, 2005 JDW, Rochester. Wow! Beautiful Golden Ale approaching American Pale Ale territory. Excellent juicy malt: full, clean and just sweet enough to serve as an excellent base for the pink grapefruit and cobweb crush of shifting earthy English hops. Stunning! I went back for more and ended up a little merry!
Pub (4112), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jan 1, 2008 Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold brown with white head. Caramel, butterscotch to the fore, a little too dominating for this type of beer, there is a plummy fruitiness within the malt and a sharpish resinous finish. Not a great beer. cgarvieuk (2536), Edinburgh, Scotland Dec 30, 2007 Cask at Standing order (JDW) edinburgh ... amber ... light hop nose ... fruity quite hoppy ... little drying some hop resins. Magic_dave6 (4010), London, Greater London, England Dec 7, 2007 Counting house, Fruits, grassy, really bitter hoppy, citrus and caramalt backing. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 30, 2006 Updated: Feb 1, 2007Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm Amber colour. Fruity nose with plums and vegetables. Sweet with sugar and ash, medium bodied. Densely malty with a grassy, resiny finish that just gown in bitterness. Solid, but too sweet bitters are not really my cup of tea. ante (2525), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 17, 2006 Cask at Oliver twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear amber colour with orange hints topped with a small firm white head. Malty aroma of caramel and fudge with touches of sweet red berries. Dense malty flavour of nuts, earth and toffee with touches of resin. Quite full-bodied. Long bitter aftertaste of grass, resin and nut-shells with a small whif of alcohol.
