Commercial Description:
Named for our beloved State Park, this robust porter draws its uniquely enticing roasted character from a thoughtful combination of malts. Generous hop additions ensure a satisfying beer drinking experience.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was strong roasty and bitter coffee. The flavor was Bitter, roasty and dry with strong notes of gritty expresso. The mouthfeel was smooth. The finish was long, dry, bitter and roasty coffee. Too dry for my liking but well made. Solid.

Sampled at Pints for Pets. Dark brown / black with a dark tan head that doesn’t last for very long. Roasted molasses and nutty coffee aroma. Flavor has some burnt smoky nut roasted coffee. A little bit of fruitness in the flavor. I didn’t really think it had all that much body. The overall flavor was solid though.

Draft sample at Pints for Pets. Pours black with chocolate/khaki foamy head, filmy. Nose is coffee and slight caramel. Tastes of bitter coffee with slight chocolate, some mild astringency with moderate hop bitterness. Decent porter. Dry and bitter. Moderate watery mouth feel. Yum.

Draft at the brewpub 5/25/08. Poured very deep brown, capped with a moderate sized tan head. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, and coffee. Robust chocolate malt flavor with notes of espresso and mild hop bitterness. Medium bodied and very drinkable. Very nice porter.

On tap at the Pints for Pets Brewfest. Richer than their stout!! Dark black with a thin creamy beige head. Smells of espresso, roasted malts and molasses. Chocolate, coffee, nutty and woody taste. GREAT PORTER!!
