The taste is disappointing, as it is a melange of flavors. The malty nature overtakes the hops, which in my mind is a no-no for an IPA. This brew has a flat mouthfeel and a dull finish. This is near the bottom of my list for IPAs (if not the very bottom). trevor211 (518), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 26, 2007 Pours copper, with a smallish head that dissipates quickly. Very clear. Aroma of strong citrus hops, well balanced with malts... but that balance ends at the first taste. The hops come through, but not much else does. It just tastes bitter, without any of the complexity that I’ve come to enjoy from better IPAs. The mouthfeel is very nice, but overall, this is one of the more disappointing IPAs I’ve tried. adrian910ss (1428), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Pours a clear golden orange with a medium white head. Lacing. Aroma of faint floral hops and malt. Taste is grainy with a hoppy presence and a slight pine detection. Average at best. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 10, 2007 22 oz bottle via Roth’s. Pours a semi-hazy amber with a small white head. Not getting much aroma from this one, just some subtle maltiness and floral hops. Taste starts with some toastiness, then some earthy hops kick-in, a bit of pine, and ends with a biscuity graininess. This seems like a cross between an East Coast IPA and an English IPA. Not what you expect from a West Coast brewery, but a sessionable tasty Ale nonetheless. Body is light, carbonation is moderate to high. SuzyGreenberg (1379), Seattle, Washington, USA
