Pours nearly black with loose, sudsy grayish head and light stringy, somewhat sheety lace. Nice big chocolatey nose for sure. Not much else there, but sweet, malty, and quite pleasant. Creamy medium body, mild carb. Chocolatey, slightly toasty and roasty. Mild sweet finish. Tasty, and no big flaws showing, but needs more life on the mouthfeel and on the head. Very toasty aroma showing hints of chocolatey, nutty complexity. Light body but full of aforementioned malt complexity. A really light, quaffing interpretation, almost a dark mild. Contains liquorice root but I’m not getting any of that. fakepurseninja (785), Washington, USA
