Jerre (1399), Waregem, Belgium Jun 10, 2007 Bottle, 33 cl. Tatse this yesterday again,
@ Fools G. Dark golden, almost orange color, big white head. Aroma very hoppy, spicy, bit honey ? Medium almost full body. Taste much hoppy, fruity, light sweet,
good in balance with much bitter, little sourness, too. Dry and light spicy aftertaste. Stays really a good beer ! fiulijn (5880), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Oct 10, 2003 Updated: Feb 17, 20062006-02-17, 8-5-7-4-15=39 years after exp. date Cloudy golden color. Dry and cellary aroma, spicy (coriander) with a touch of fruitness, sourness and vanilla; very complex. Good taste, malty, with some bitter astringency. It aged quite well.
2003-10-08, 8-5-9-5-18=45 Cloudy light amber color; giant, creamy head! Wonderful. Biting aroma: wood and old hops; very dry, unique. Dry but velvety mouth feeling, good strong malt, strong bitterness supported by a nice hop aroma, spicy; ends with a peculiar caramel-like taste, very original in a blond ale. Excellent! DocLock (4170), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2006 Bottle from Super Saver. Turbid gold pour. Aromas were floral, spicy, with honey, fruit, and some cobwebby dusty funk notes. The taste was floral, semi-dry, and spicy, with old malt and yeasty hints. Very unique and complex in aroma and taste, with tons of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. As it warmed, it evgen acquired a cacao flavor element that was most enjoyable. This one paired nicely with a cheese and fruit plate. hughie (2278), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jul 12, 2006 Cloudy orange with a large white head. A little sediment. Sweet, spicy melon and grape aroma with some yeast. Fruity, yeasty flavour with a little citrus, lots of alcohol and a strong hoppy aftertaste. Not an easy drinking beer: it’s complex, curious and thoroughly rewarding. eczematic (1170), Sydney, Australia Aug 20, 2002 bugger youse all im going out on a limb and rating it higher than anyone else. this was like duvel with the pale malt creaminess of a good munchner hell. tasty dry peppery finish with a good bitterness and chewy dried apricots. yummy yeasty aroma. strangely enough, there’s no spices added: it’s all in the yeast i guess.
