| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2003 Very hazy, ruby/orange brew. Small, creamy white head.
The aroma is of milk chocolate with touches of smoke, caramel, buttermilk and toffee.
Very malty flavor with loads of butterscotch, caramel and straw. Well-bittered and well-balanced. Acidic.
Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation.
Nice, crisp, clean finish.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 9, 2006 Dark walnut brown, one-finger khaki head. Dark syrup, slightly musty, bockish aroma. Tangy sweet, bock malty. Light bittering. Great pairing with the sausage dinner. Solid, but it needs some ooomph. Maybe a stiffer dose of German hops. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 1/20 | Jul 20, 2006 It is nearly black. Some dark malt aroma and flavors, but very slight. The beer is sour. Honestly, if it weren’t for KP, I probably wouldn’t have hung around for all 8 brews. Half of the beers were sour infected, the other half were either diacetyl bombs or oxidized. scraff (1946), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2004 Amberish and brown, thin creamy off white head. Butterscotch and toffee with a nice roasted quality in the nose. Well balanced with german hops showing up to round this out. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, crisp, sweet malty finish. A nice session lager....
