joekfsu (118), Boardman, Ohio, USA Jun 11, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours clear and golden, 1 cm of bubbly head, mostly diminishing. Aroma is terrible, beyond skunk, think porta-john. Flavor is pretty impressive though with obvious blueberry, malt, biscuits, and a hint of hop bitterness at the end. Minimal lacing, moderate carbonation, light body, and light alcohol is hard to pick up on. Overall, the smell really turned me off, gross, but it tasted good, so its iffy.
rampmaster (133), Alden, New York, USA Aug 24, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It forms a thin white head that quickly fades leaving just a few small bubbles on top. The body has a light golden color with very good clarity. (Apparently this is a filtered wheat beer.)
Smell: The aroma has a big blueberry nose up front with mild leafy hops and then some light wheat notes in the background.
Taste/Mouth feel: The blueberry, which is up front in the aroma, is more mellow or complementary in the flavor. The sweet/tart blueberry flavor is balanced well with spicy, almost peppery hop flavor and some tangy wheat flavor notes as well. Its body has a very drinkable light to medium body with a nice active carbonation and a slow finishing tart to bitter fading aftertaste.
Notes: I really enjoyed balance on this beer. I loved that the blueberry that was big and bold in the aroma but didn’t overpower the flavor of the beer or get lost altogether. Well done!!!
GMCC2181 (358), Bear, Delaware, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle from stfun, thanks josh. Yellow in color, small head that faded quickly. Aroma is malty and blueberry. Taste is blueberry but not over-done. Kind of a perfume after taste....Light in texture and carbonation. Not a bad fruit beer. Thanks again josh! cbkschubert (1566), Skyline, Arizona, USA Jul 11, 2008 12 oz. bottle found all over the Buffalo area - Pours a clear light golden color with a small white head. Faint lacing. Smells like... Yeah, that’s blueberry alright. Some underlying wheat and yeast as well.
Tastes like... Yeah, that’s blueberry alright. Wheat and blueberry with a light hoppy finish.
Refreshing, a crips clean taste. Very satisfying to a thirst.
The blueberry would get tiresome after one or two, though; so I can’t rate the drinkability very high.
