Perhaps a tad too sweet for the English bitters of tradition. The bitterness overtakes the malt in the finish for a moderately crispness. The nose is moderately sweet and caramely as well, but lacking any of the hops I get in the flavor. Medium in body, but with a low carbonation level, it’s kind of lifeless on the palate. Light amber body is topped by a small light-tan head that settles to a wide ring. Kind of boring, actually, especially with the carbonation issue. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA

Not much hop for me in the nose. Light to medium bodied. Nice malt presence is balanced barely by a subtle, earth hop flavor. Uncomplex but a darn solid ESB. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Celebration Ale-like hops: dark, toasty, winterlike, etc. Flavor is semi-sweet toasty malts and dark cherries, a very well balanced beer a similar to a red ale recipe with a little more hops than usual. Very nice.
