| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Pours quite dark and creamy with a small off white head. Lots of chocolate and roasted caramel in the nose. Medium bodied and quite creamy but has the same problem as the porter. It lacks character and balance. A little sweet as it warms, with a dry hint of hop bitterness in the finish. Boring. Oakes (8100), gone rambling, Vietnam

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2005 (Draft: Elliot Glacier Public House in Parkdale, OR) Sweet, malty, roasty and alcoholic nose is a great way to start off my final beer at this brewery. Rich, sweet malts are fairly roasty, lightly smoky and moderately bitter. Alcohol is evident, but not overwhelming. Full bodied and fairly sticky, with a long-lasting palate. Deep, dark ruddy mahogany color, not quite black though. Light tan head holds a thin layer for the session, depositing bits of lace here and there on the glass. I like this beer a lot, but then again, I like almost all Imperial Stouts. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Decent semi-thick body, creamy and smooth, but lacking depth. Pretty much just a milky, butter, chocolate malt mixture, lacking the defining smoke, charred malts and alcohol of an imperial stout. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA

Black colored with a fast fading tan head. Minimal lacing. Deeply roasted aroma wiht big chocolate notes. Medium to full bodied, coats the palate and lingers pleasantly. Silky texture. Flavors run with the aromas. Very roasted malt presence along with chocolate. Very adequate hop bitterness balances out the malt body. Quite a nice IS. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA

Some sweet malts with a touch of fruit. Coffee in the flavor with some bitter roast and small cocoa. A touch of sourness. Body is slick lacking carbonation. Sour finish.
