Aroma: Really nice tangerine and grapefruit hops, hints of pine; thick, puffy lacing. Appearance: Pretty coppery orange color, clear; frothly off-white. Flavor: Really good! Delicately sugary toffee malts paired with plenty of grapefruit and pine hops; floral, slightly soapy; generous level of bitterness. Palate: Great soft, medium-light to medium-bodied mouthfeel; cask-like. Overall: Slightly off-balanced toward the bitterness - JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT; a fantastic IPA!

Poured clear dark copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.
This is a good beer. riversideAK (2779), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Nice hoppy nose. Pepper, lime, lemon, earthy with a hint of bubble gummy yeast notes. Pours golden with a decent bubbly head. Nice bitterness up front with flavors of pepper and lime followed by grainy bready malt and a soft yeasty sweetness in the finish before the hops in the finish take over and ride out with nice long lime acidic bitterness. scrizzz (1324), kirkland, Washington, USA

Hop forward, leafy and full, with a kick of cottony peppery spice. Aggressively bitter, rounded out with the yeast. Wonderful. Nena (175), West Seattle, Washington, USA

Left a fair amount of layered lacing for me. This was a very solid IIPA, and only loses points for me for not having a very noticable Belgian character. But, I wasn’t exactly expecting it with an IIPA. Hops are very bold in the aroma, with some funky yeastiness. I detected the yeastiness more in the aroma than the flavor, which was more focused on the lemony, citric hops to me. BillKismet (1952), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Bronze with a thin lathery layer. Grapefruit aroma with wet-shoe funk and some bubblegum. Perhaps crystal hops? Candi crystal and Crystal hop flavor that is a bit overdone. No detectable Belgian quality. Packs an outsized wallop for the 7.1% ABV.
