chokmah33 (110), Bremerton, Washington, USA Aug 17, 2008 Mild roasted malt aroma, some coffee, choco, and toffee.
Coffee and chocolate are subdued here, butterscotch is dominate, especially in finish. It is a sweet and creamy stout.
Very smooth palate, dry but not tangy.
Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 24, 2008 On tap at Elliott Bay Brew Pub in West Seattle, WA--Abysmal black, opaque body with just a tinge of amber around the edges. No head. Creamy oily, start, acidic nose with mild toffee, coffee, and nut hints. Hints of cherry, almond, and lacquer thinner in finish. Something a bit odd with this beer. Not sure if it is off, just odd. Coats tongue with sweet biscuit flavors and an English-meets-US touch. Flaked oats give depth in creaminess. anders37 (2827), Malmö, Sweden Aug 13, 2008 Draught @ Elliott Bay Brewery and Pub. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and coffee aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Roasted malty finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste. Imaena (259), Portland, Maine, USA Jul 1, 2008 Growler @ Charity event West Seattle.
Black pour. Thin and uninspiring stout with lots of roasted malt. I had the beer ice cream (see previous entry ) in a pint of the stout as a beer float which was amazing. On its own its average fare. SuzyGreenberg (1067), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 26, 2008 draft @ west seattle brewpub - black with no head and thin texture; mild aromas of bitter chocolate; some roasted malts in the flavor, but very bland and thin; the best part of the no doubt stout is that the trub gets used for ice cream (from husky) in their brownie sundaes; and those are damn good!!
