Had at the casino/brewery. Kind of a fruity smell. Mild taste with some cherry lingering. Considered that it cost $1 for a pint, more than worth the money.

Light gold with almost no head. Some weak malt and caramel aromas. Balanced flavors of hops and malts, but a pretty thin mouthfeel. Slightly sweet finish makes this tasty, but average.

Had this on tap at the brewery. Very little aroma with a slight malty taste. But it was difficult to distinguish the beer flavor from the overwhelming BBQ aroma that came from the smoke pit on the patio. Not a beer I would recommend - only slightly better than a macrobrew. At least the price was right.

(draft @ Ellis Island Casino and Microbrewery - Las Vegas, NV) Clear amber color with a big white head. Aroma is rather light with some malts and some grains. Flavor has a decent touch of malts at the beginning, some hops, then the flavor disappears. Some caramel at the finish. For $1, you can’t beat it. Plus they have the $4.99 steak dinner. On top of that, while I was waiting for my food, I put $10 in a video poker machine and won $40. Not a bad trip really.

I like the whole concept of a casino/brewery, so in that regard a visit to Ellis Island in Las Vegas, is worth a stop. That being said, don’t expect to be blown away by the beers brewed at Ellis Island. They are just a notch or two above your average macro brew, and I believe they are brewed with the intent to appeal to a broad range. And lets face facts here, people are coming to Vegas to gamble. Ellis Island Amber isn’t very flavorful, but it is a decent enough pint for $1. This beer pours to a bright amber color, with a short white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose has mild aromas of pale and stewed malt, with light hints of caramel. The body is lean, with some light flavors of pale malt, and caramel. This beer finishes slightly cloying with more pale and sweet malt, and just a touch of hop bitterness. A nice, quaffable pint of beer, that would work well with the food on the Ellis Island menu.

I was surprised from this beer. Had on tap at a cheap-eats bar The Village Pub. The best thing about this beer was that is wasn’t all that malty. Nothing really special, but certainly drinkable.

on draft from the brewery. standard amber ale, light caramel-y flavors and not much else. nothing much special about it but nothing offensive. aroma is of malts and alcohol. drinkable in quantity and quite cheap, but i wouldn’t go out of your way to try it.
