Pours a somewhat clear ruby brown with a smallish beige head. Aroma is lightly sweet chocolate and grainy. Flavor is light bitter chocolate and roast. Finishes short and somewjat bitter.

19 oct 07, Draft at the Brewery/Casino. Dark brown / black, tan head. Watery appearence with light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt. Flavors of watered down coffee. Light bodied. Short lived flavors.

Tap at brewpub. Dark in color with ruby outlines. Fairly weak and grainy flavors. Slightly sweet. Not too good.

Yikes! What can I say? Usually a stout is a pretty fail-safe endeavour for any brewer. Not so, apparently. This suffers from the same problem I found in all the Ellis Island brews-- too sweet and sticky, very unbalanced. I suppose it could be classified as a sweet stout, but even then it fails to impress. Almost no aroma (or maybe it’s the smokey casino killing whatever aroma there may be), roasted and chocolate malt are lost in the unbalanced sweetness. I left 3/4 of the pint sitting on the bar (and that’s saying something!).

Draft in pint glass. It’s 1 (ONE) US dollar fpr a pint. That’s 70 euro cents for a draft beer. No it was not a great stout, served at well below cellar temperature in a shady casino, but you get what you pay for: drinkable beer. And it’s better than all the macros bottles available.

Let’s start off by saying that the pints were only $1. Beer was a dark brown and served probably too cold for a stout. There was really no aroma. Taste seemed to be watered down, probably from the beer being so cold. Nothing really stands out about this beer, but considering it was over 100 degrees outside, this beer really hit the spot.

Very watery with just hints of roast and caremel that this is an actual stout. Very bland.

Aroma of some caramel. Watery, thin, not all that great. Below average stout.
