Bottle: Clear pour of dark gold and amber with a sizeable white head and nice lacing. Nose is light of fruitiness and earthy tones. The fruit flavor comes out a bit more in the taste with a blend of apple, grape, and citrus. A little hops presence and some light earthiness. Pleasant.

6/20/2007: Elysian Ambrosia Maibock pours a clear orangy-copper color with a foamy beige head. The aroma and flavor are slightly sweet with some toasted malt and light citrus. The flavor also has a slightly nutty quality amongst the toasty and lightly bready maltiness. There is a moderate bitterness in the floral/tea-flavored finish. I’m generally not a huge fan of Maibock or Heller Bocks in general, but Ambrosia Maibock was pretty good!

22 oz bottle (Alchohol 6.1% by Volume) from trade with Yonkers65. Thanks Bruce! Shared at the Junedale Beer Klub June "Ales of Summer" beer tasting...

Draft at Elysian Fields. Pours crystal clear light amber with a thin and lingering moussy white film. Nose is pretty tough to locate, even after an extensive search. Only after taking a sip does it become clear that there’s vanilla on the nose. Another characteristic Elysian mild-mannnered attack. The mid-palate comes along with tangy caramel, light orange, and vanilla. Finishes creamy with a bit of bitter hop that’s a little too sharp--something spicy or Saaz-y would be nicer.

Deep golden color, with a orange hue. Tropical fruits, apples, oranges, pineapples nose. Sweet malty mouth, pineapples, cherries, oranges and an interesting yeasty character that I can’t put my finger on. Malty tropical fruit finish. yum

Bomber. Pours a clear copper with a fading white head. Nutty noble hop aroma. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of roasted nuts and citrus. Not so much a bitter finish as a bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours dark orange with a large mostly lasting off-white frothy head, good lacing, sparkling body. Aroma is average malt (hay, straw), average hops (perfume, grass), average yeast (dough, leaves) with notes of pear and peach. Average duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity, moderate bitterness; buttery hoppy malt and creamy yeast flavor. Medium bodied, mineral texture, average carbonation and a bitter finish.

Bottle: Pours a golden amber color, light tawny. Retentive off-white head and plenty of lacing. Nose of light sweet fruit; kiwi, grape, canteloupe. Some malts and a light citrusy hop character. The flavor is balanced, full bodied and a bit lacking in the tail. A good build up but no concerto. Decent but not worth seeking again. Thanks Andre!
