draft at the elysian pike street. pours a cloudy dark brown...not, in fact, entirely unlike a chestnut. mild sweet brown sugar nose with earthy and nutty tones. watery light body. sweet sugar and nut mid palate. turns christmas tradition on its head, in a mild, dark, lagery way.

Nose is very interesting per the style. Nutty, doughy, earthy with hints of chocolate and caramel as well. A touch of bread. Brown pour, muddy with a creamy head. The flavor is also somewhat doughy, earthy, nutty. Light smokey notes. Interesting earthy dustiness. High drinkability at around 4%.

Draft. Pours a mahogany body with an off white head. Chewy toffee and nutty with a malt driven body well accented with roasted malt and some dry malt. Thin simple and session able. Win.

Gorgeous deep mahogany and ruby color with luscious head. Pleasant, moderately hopped aroma, perhaps with a dusting of nut and malt. Musky, smoked beech flavor. Nice, but not really a "nut brown" quality.

On tap at the Elysian in Capitol Hill. Not sure why it has not been listed yet. The chestnut is not really prevalent enough. They should look toward Rogue Hazelnut Brown as a guide. Still, a solid effort.
