Commercial Description:
Deceptive and delicious Belgian-style Tripel. Bete Blanche is extremely drinkable, blonde and somewhat treacherous. Brewed entirely from pale malt and augmented in the boil with Turbinado sugar. Bittered with German Northern Brewer and finished with Styrian Goldings hops. Fermented with mixed Belgian and American ale yeasts

Bottle. Light amber in color with a fluffy white head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Earthy, musty fruity aroma.Peach, apple and spicy notes. Cinnamon and clove citrusy flavor. Coriander yeasty notes. Finish is spicy. Tart. Dry mouthfeel. Drinkable. Decent beer.

22 oz. bottle. light amber color with a creamy white head. Lots of bubbles streaming to the surface ; looks like a volcano creating a foam dome in the middle of the glass, pretty cool, actually. Nice thick lacing as well. Musty, earthy leathery smell. Medium bodied with a dry mouthfeel. Strong, tart citrusy lemongrass taste. Lots of sweet tart lemony flavors. Finishes very dry and clean.

I opened this beer with the mistaken assumption that it would be just another tripel... how wrong I was. Poured a lovely peach orange with a creamy head, at first pour loose and bubbly and uncontrollable, and then when I finished the bottle thick and creamy and lovely. Amazing lacing. Aroma is mandarin orange, mulling spice, I could sniff this thing all night. I was completely unprepared for the flavour my wife thought that I hated it because I was so surprised. This is perhaps the most charismatic tripel I have ever tasted - strong alcohol, hops galore - hoppy finish more like a Saison than a tripel. Lots of fruit - peach, apple, even carrot & cinnamon. Body is creamy and perfectly carbonated. Alcohol kick is brutally euphoric. Lots of residual yeast in the bottom. What a treat - I wish I had another bottle to share with friends. This Saison-like Tripel is second to none.

Bottle. cloudy orange amber, big off-white lacing head. Fairly spicy nose: clove, orangepeel, pineneedles, minerals. Good dry fruit base - peaches, orangepeel, typical belgian yeast notes. Creamy and sparkly mouthfeel. Very pleasant.

(22oz bottle) Purchased from Spinnakers Wine Merchants in Victoria. Pours a lasting, very lofty white foamy white head with a cloudy, yellow-orange body. Nose is incredibly yeasty and peppery. Fruity nose mixes with subtle vanilla and spiced tones. Flavour is deeply fruity and touches on a range of good hops and malt balance. Very spiced and sweet. Malts are well used. Oranges and flowers in the hops. Good beer.

10/20/07 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is fruity esters forward, very peppery. Appearance is hazy yellow with a medium-high white head. Flavor is highly phenolic, fruity, peppery, citrusy, with medium-low bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a medium carb feel. Not bad, but too phenolic and out of balance.

22oz Bomber – Gravity Room – Olympia, WA
Aroma – Deep Belgian Ale with a deep sweet aroma
Appearance – Light brown color a tad hazy and with a light head
Flavor – Had a small fruity flavor with a deep malt . Had some good spices and light yeasty flavor in the end
Palate – This was good and easy to drink and flavorful to the finish
Overall –Elysian has put out a great Belgian and they are hard to brew. Great Job Elysian
