Opaque orange-amber with a lasting though smallish dusting of white foam....nose mostly orangepeel, touches of dry yeast and caramel, pretty simple....silky-buttery mouthfeel is easily the best thing about this beer, it’s like drinking cream with just a touch of orange liqueur added....but alas there just isn’t enough flavor to create the proper intoxicating effect, some honey-vanilla tones to go with the orange, pleasant yes but just not enough oomph. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2006 After reading other reviews I realized that this beer is about as unstable as a fat kid on a unicycle. Some bad reviews with a description that has little to do with what I tasted. I guess I got lucky. Cloudy golden body with a medium white head. Spicy & wheat/pale malt aroma. Taste is grassy with an interesting mix of spices (which for once excludes the coriander). Yeasty, lightly citrusy/fruity. Finish is mainly spicy with the hops in the background. Very soft carbo. I liked it. Sampled at Mondial 2006. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2006 Less than the sum of its parts. Everything is pleasant. Wonderful rich amber beer with a large light orange / tan head that slowly vanishes. Nose of yeast and orange. Taste of yeast and bread, orange and spice, nicely hopped, with a good sweetness. Unlike some tripels, alcohol well under control. Great color from a light malt beer and light malt taste. Nothing to complain about, but no real intensity, clarity of vsion, or complexity ... pleasant, not bold or striking. Easy and enjoyable, not remarkable. waolsen (1224), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 17, 2006 One of my recent favorites from Elysian. Nothing too crazy as far as Tripels go, but very tasty. Spicy and yeasty tastes. One of the better American "Tripels" I’ve had. Oakes (8142), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2006 Cloudy beige colour. Aroma shows big coriander, dust-accented yeast, and a bit of pale malt. The body is firm and more or less dry. Spicy, fruity flavours atop confident pale malts. Not so brave in interpretation but solid in execution. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2006 Fully hazy orange; pale orange coloured head. Very orange/curaçao nose, coriander, OK, making it smell like a "tripel wit". Extremely fruity & spicey, lots of citrus. Obvious alcohol, contributing to the sweetness; esters. Slight alcoholwarming, highly carbonated. Not bad at all, but definitely not a beer apt at sessions, I’d say. More for dinner, as Garrett O. suggested.
