Commercial Description:
Deceptive and delicious Belgian-style Tripel. Bete Blanche is extremely drinkable, blonde and somewhat treacherous. Brewed entirely from pale malt and augmented in the boil with Turbinado sugar. Bittered with German Northern Brewer and finished with Styrian Goldings hops. Fermented with mixed Belgian and American ale yeasts

Spicy yeasty aroma, flavors are kind of muddled and watered down with a somewhat lightly malty flavor, some lemony citrus and bready biscuit notes, but overall is kind of soapy and musty.

Grapefruits and tangerines with overly strong spiciness in the sweaty aroma. Opaque, milky tan coloured body is topped by a low, fine bubbled, white head that recedes to partial cover. Tangerines and grapefruits offer some light acidity to the sweet flavour. Spices that seemed so assertive in the nose are lacking in the flavour. Medium body is somewhat sticky with moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled with MartinT, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Siroy.

Murky dirty golden, lasting large white head. Low aromatics once again from an elysian’s Belgian take. Sweaty, dirty yeast aromas are downed by generous spice character (ginger root) while light citrusy and herbal hops offer some comfort to a very shy malt support. Tartish lemon squash peaks in the otherwise dull estery, soapy and grainy finish. Light and oily body with unattractive regional carbonation.

Any first impressions?
-Murky beige specks under an expansive, frothy, big-bubbled head.
-Muddled aroma of yeast and herbal spices, mainly coriander.
-Flavor spectrum is somewhat dirty, pretty herbal and fruity.
-The very frothy carbonation exposes the body’s thinness.

What if you dig deeper?
-Finishes quickly with some watery passages.
-Sadly, the dry yeast flavors stick around too long.
-Milky notes appear within the spiciness.
-Simply put, an incohesive witbier. NOT a tripel.

Bottle; no date.

Estery yeasty aroma. Spicy, saison-like flavor. Bittersweet flavors. Very drinkable.

Bottle shared courtesy of weeare138 (thanks!). Poured a darker golden color with a very large sized white head. Spicy, spicy, spicy. Aromas of spices (pepper & coriander) and some yeast with very light spices. The spices dominates the tastes and detracted from the other flavors.

Pours a very hazy murky golden color, big white fluffy head. Aroma is fruit and spices, very floral, and complex. Banana, black pepper and lemons. Flavor is sweet, bananas, musty yeast, a little alcohol, very balanced and drinkable.
