| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2008 Draft at Tangletown. Entered as Elysian Brewing Company in the distro info because RateBeer Safe Mode will not accept parentheses, even from the Instant Place Finder. OK. Pours a hazy medium amber, slightly coppery. Thin tan head, dense and moussy but shallow. Plenty of candi sugar on the nose, along with some caramelly malty goodness and just a tiny trailing hint of spice. Body is on the high side of medium, creamy, a bit sticky in spots. Dense and satisfying. Mid-palate shows plenty of caramel, brown bread, candi sugar, and just the faintest hint of darker holiday spicing, though that could be from malt accents. Mild, sticky-sweet finish of moderate duration. riversideAK (2779), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Dark ripe fruit, plums, figs, chocolate, roasted malts, burnt sugars, yeasty esters. Pours almost black with beige foam and some lace.Flavors of Dark fruit, dark roasted malts, chocolate, candi sugars, burnt sugary seweetness, banana esters. Nice assertive carbonation. Lingering sweet sugary esters. Light earthy bitter/dryness creeps in too. Creamier in the body than most for style. Not overly sweet as the roast and black malts balance this well.
