First beer I tried at the 2006 OBF. I don’t know what I got into. I love this brewery. I just wanted to see what they had to offer. Dark Orange in color, white head. mightily hopped. very similar bittterness to many ROGUEs I’ve had. Malt bitterness aroma. Very nice suprise!

22 oz. bomber. Pours a clear brilliant amber with a dense, lasting head. Lemon/hop nose is fairly strong. First taste packs a hop bite with a sweetish piney character. Finish trails off into slow, sweet, warming glow with just a tang of hops left behind. I liked this year’s batch over the last couple.

Hazey pale orange with a very thin cap of off-white foam. Lots of lacing in thick webby sheeting coats the glass. Aroma is thick and fairly full of broad intensity from a big load of juicy, citrusy hops and caramel covered bread dough. Taste is just as broad, lacking some fullness until the finish where it gets a bit more complex and thick. Citrus stays the course from start to finish with bittering tangerine skins and blended dark orange flavors. Quite nice really. The malts stay in the back, the way back, with a pale malt dryness and some doughy sweetness. Keeps a tilted balance as the hops are heavy on the flavors and character leaving the malts behind to do just a little bit of placement along the way. Quite orangey. My tongue is getting a work out. Whew... Feel is abourt medium with a heavy citrus carry-on of orange flavored luggage that provides extra heft to the overall payload. A bit of warm and rough hoppy citric skin and pithy texture finds its way once you get into it. Gets SO much more vigorous as it warms my head is swimming with sillyness now. Mucho yummy stuff.

Pours a nice Dark amber with a decent off-white head. Aroma is filled with xmas spice, ginger, and fruit. taste is very sweet and malty, with hints of ginger bread and carmel. very sweet and malty with a nice hop finish in the taste but not very bitter. Very smooth and thick. Amazing winter beer that really impressed me.
