Sample at the Pike Street location. This beer pours a clear orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Spicy aroma with notes of malt and fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, honey and sweet spices, followed by mild hops and fruit. The finish is sweet and spiced with light hops and citrus aftertaste. Decent all around.

Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel and tupalev - bottle courtesy of J&K. Hazy amber, average off-white head. Sweet, mildly leafy aroma, lightly spicy. Sweet apricot malt balanced by very bitter floral hops (rosehips), a bit of a boozy sting to the tail. Light bodied, astringent with a long pungently bitter finish and linger - oddly floral, but I liked it a lot.

Bottle shared with Jerc, Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and Mabel, courtesy of Jerc Mabel. Strong sweet caramel aroma. Medium orange, small white head. Great taste - lots of hops, really malty, some sort of very interesting fruit/fruitiness. Complex and interesting, it is not winter, but I can see why this would make a good winter warmer.

Bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of mabel. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma of caramel malt, sweetness and light floral hops. Flavour of caramel malt and a touch of fruit. Long bitter finish. Average bodied. Meh, nothing wrong with this but somewhat dull stuff.

2008-04-18. Dark amber body with small white head. Aroma of strange malt, slightly inappropriate notes I may be reading too much into. Pleasant hoppy bitterness up front, sweet lightly toasty malts in the middle, finish is sort of harsh with astringent bitterness. Average palate. Just can’t get into this one. Bottle from Karen’s Seattle Trip <P>"Who brought the bi curious?" - Blankboy<P> "Who names their kid Candy?" - Tupalev (Five minutes after the fact)

22oz bottle. Dusky orange-brown color with a small tan head. Super sugary sweet caramel aroma with fruity and herbal hoppiness. Sharp floral hop note up front with a sweet and slightly spicy malt character. Light alefruit, caramel and toffee. Candied citrus hop flavors in the finish, with a lingering sweet and spicy component. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, somewhat chewy.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden honeyed body with a small, white head. Smell: Aroma of pale malts, honey candy, flowers, and herb chiffonade. Taste: Toffee flavored maltiness with a brief candied sweetness. Full floral hoppiness with a nice bitter hit. Crisp fried herbs and light spice in the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A solid beer. Something a little different for a winter seasonal.
