A hazy amber beer with a light orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of hops, as well as lighter notes of alcohol and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a light metallic note from the alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic end, where the alcohol burns slightly in the top of the throat.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber colour with a nice, creamy, yellowish brown head. Lovely aroma of sweet caramel and aroma hops. Full body with lots of sweetish caramel flavours and aroma hops. Some slightly medicinal notes. 211006

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy nut brown. Severely malty with tick and extremely syrupy mouthfeel. There’s plenty of grapefruity hops, but they drown in an ocean of syrup. Sticky bitter finish. Very raw and unrefined, hopefully some time in the cellar can mature the stickyness away, but I doubt it’ll ever become great.

Golden-amber colour. Aroma has off-phenols. Rich brown sugary character with butter and nuts. That would make a good dessert, but as a barley wine, it’s a little odd. Warming finish. Long, tasty finish.

(2003) Lightly hazed copper body with minimal beige head. Aroma is sweet, syrupy, butterscotch, caramel, some citrus, light alcohol. Taste is quite sweet, caramel, butter, the citrus finally getting its due in the finish, sharing with light alcohol. Syrupy full body with minimal carbonation. The highlight is the finish, which for a brief moment shines.
