Aroma has dark malt character. Chocolate and mild coffee roast. Fizzy and thin body. Not an appetizing texture. Flavor has less character.Grainy chocolate and stale coffee grinds which lead to an ashy/metallic finish. Unpleasant roasted and bitter character stays on the tongue. In-cohesive and unappetizing. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jun 12, 2008 A simple enough dry Irish stout. Does a good impersonation of Guinness I guess, but surely not even a Victory Donnybrook for flavor intensity, and the Victory has much lower alcohol, great in an irish session beer. Thin and dry, with a good "nitrogen" cream mouth. But just not very interesting.
