Tap at Barcade: Near opaque pour with ruby at the edges in the light. Aroma has dark malt character. Chocolate and mild coffee roast. Fizzy and thin body. Not an appetizing texture. Flavor has less character.Grainy chocolate and stale coffee grinds which lead to an ashy/metallic finish. Unpleasant roasted and bitter character stays on the tongue. In-cohesive and unappetizing.

Guest beer on nitro at the 1221 E. Pike Street brewery in Seattle, Washington. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a creamy off-white head that has some excellent retention and lacing from the nitro charge. Aroma of toasted dark malt, dark chocolate, a touch of coffee and some dark pitted fruits. Taste is smooth and semi-sweet with flavors of toasted dark malts, chocolate and some light coffee. Finish has a mild metallic texture with some smoothness and toasted dark malt aftertaste.
