Pours very dark tobacco brown with about a half finger of brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and roast, some molasses. Mouthfeel is medium-full, with a nice bit of oaty smoothness, light carbonation. Fine but well-defined rings and light curtains of lacing inside of snifter. Flavor is roasty and chocolatey, sweet dark and bitter chocolate and coffee. A bit of molasses as it warms. A fine, tasty stout although it seems a bit more like a regular or sweet stout than a foreign. Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 18, 2008 Roasted oaty maltiness with a dash of coffee flavors to balance it all out. One of the easiest drinking stouts I’ve ever had, a guy could easily drink two or three 22 oz bottles and not realize it until the alcohol hit. Not that I’d know anything about that...
