Appealing with cocoa, lacto and just a touch of hops. Pours black with a small brown ring head and good lacing. Flavor is a mild match to the aroma. Palate is sticky and ashy. A tasty stout. 152219 (14), USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Bitter chocolate smell. Looks great. Pretty bitter flavor. Chocolate flavor too. But there’s also a weird flavor that I can’t figure out.Maybe it’s the oats but I really have no idea? WisconsinBeer (526), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Dark colored with a minimal head. Has a nice body without being overly thick. Smooth and dry with hints of dark chocolate, oats, and a bit of coffee. The thing that catches me with this beer is that the hops are well pronounced on the back end, and they tend to dry it out a bit. If hops aren’t your thing, this isn’t for you, but I find it to be an interesting version of the style. redlight (1487), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Vanilla and chocolate on the nose, very smooth and sweet aroma. Pours dark brown. Very smooth flavor, chocolate, a little vanilla, with some coffee flavors. Excellent beer! Feinschmecker (188), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 14, 2007 On Tap. Deep black with a thin dark brown head. Aroma is of roasted malt and chocolate. Espresso and chocolate notes give the beer a smooth fantastic flavor. There is a little bitterness, but just enough. The hops in fact prevent the malt from being overpowering. I believe the Dragonstooth Stout is a terrific well-balanced stout, as long as it is not served too cold! JohnnyJ (1343), Carlsbad, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2007 Pours a dark brown with dense tan head. Roasted malt, hops, chocolate and roasted coffee. The roasted coffee part stands out quite a bit. I thought the mouthfeel was slightly thin, with medium carbonation. jcwattsrugger (5525), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2007 on tap-pours a light brown head that laces and black color. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate/molasses, roasty. Taste is dark malt-chocolate/molasses, roasty, some coffee. Less hops and slightly fuller body than the porter[as the styles usually indicate]. Still nice even though not my style.
