Gregis (937), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bomber courtesy of SuzyGreenberg. Pours jet black with two fingers of creamy, light brown head that leaves behind patchy lace. The nose is a big blend of dark roasted malt, chocolate, light char and touches of black cherry and alcohol. Medium-bodied and silky with a roasted and moderately bitter finish. The oats used in this recipe certainly come through in the mouthfeel. Roasted and moderately sweet chocolaty malt with a slightly tart fruitiness (cherries?), coffee and a mildly bitter-hopped and roasted finish. This is a very nice beer, and it represents just one more reason to be jealous of the beer selection available to those in the Seattle area. Thanks again for the bottle, Ben!

Aroma of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate and a touch of sweet malt. Aroma carries through to the flavors with a solid foundation of roasted coffee along with toffee, dried cherries, smoke and vanilla. Great aromas of chocolate, roasted chocolate and oats. Rich black color with mahogany head. Good rich chocolate flavors. Nice oats flavors too. Some roasted/burnt coffee. Hops flavors very covered but provide a nice slight bitterness., also some orange peel. Thick creamy mouth feel very warm in the stomach. Really nice beer.
