JK (2341), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA May 4, 2008 From Skyview. A thick and heavy beer. Almost no carbonation. Loads of malt which, combined with moderate hops, makes this bitter. Just a little chocolate in there
WeeHeavySD (1491), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jun 25, 2008 Bomber, I think a newer one via trade, and shared with my GF Cyn. Pours black with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is sweet and rich with lots of nice maltyness. Taste is sweet chocolaty and overall pretty damn nice. Nice brew. ucusty (726), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jun 13, 2008 Dark brown pour with 2 finger head and spotty lacing. Coffee, chocolate, and roast on the nose. Medium bodied excellent beer. Roasted malts & chocolate with a dry finish. WISEGUY572 (1074), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 12, 2008 Coffee, chocolate, and serious citrus hops. Opaque black, great lacing like all the Elysian drafts. Not quite a Storm King or an Expedition, but just fine. CapnCascade (28), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 12, 2008 Pours black, hint of ruby-brown when held up to the light, rich brown head with moderate retention and some lacing. Spectacular aroma of chocolate, black licorice, dark coffee and herbs. Flavor is roasty with a dry, herbal finish and a respectable hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is rich and without too much carbo getting in the way. Delicious. sirpsycho (147), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, beautiful, medium brown head. Aroma is roast malt and a touch of coffee. Flavor is again roasted malt and coffe, maybe a touch of chocolate in the background. The palate starts off average, but the finish is a nice coffee bitterness.
