riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Sep 1, 2008 Pale yellow pour. Aroma is kind of spicy and grassy. The flavor has some light grainy sweetness, perhaps some adjuncty sweetness and a spicy crisp finish. Clean, but not much going on to me. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 20, 2008 On draught at the Elysian brewery in Seattle, Washington. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a creamy white head that has some nice retention and good lacing. Aroma of toasted crystal and golden grain malt, light citrus zest and a touch of grassy hops. Taste is light to medium bodied, light carbonation with a mild fruity malt flavor with citrus and grassy hop character. Finish continues the toasted golden grain and crystal malt aftertaste that turns to a crisp and light bitter flavor. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Jul 21, 2008 Draught @ Elysian Field. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a small white head. Fruity malty grainy aroma with some weak hints of hops. Fruity malty grainy flavor. Sweet malty grassy finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste. WISEGUY572 (1244), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 12, 2008 Who am I to disagree with Oakes? And yet, I’m at the brewery two years later and obviously drinking a very different batch! First impression was, yeah, looks pretty awful, like a Fosters, but appearance was saved later on by great lacing. Not much in the nose except Fostery grass and a little hops. Mouth was wonderfully creamy, and totally unanticipated. Pretty one dimension taste, a little malt, but great hoppy finish, another real surprise. Certainly a great take on a terrible style. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Mar 19, 2006 Light golden colour. Lightly grassy, lightly malty aroma. The flavours are light, but the bitterness is not. Tons of Pride of Ringwood character. Dry finish. A bit one-dimensional, more a showcase for the PoR hop, which really isn’t one of the world’s better hops. But I can see why they’d want to try brewing it. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Mar 13, 2006 Very pale golden beer with a thin white head. Aroma is a bit corny, pale malt and a massive Pride of Ringwood aroma. The flavour of this hop just doesn’t do it for me. Bittering is a bit astringent and medicinal. Pretty horrible. If you like PoR though, this brew is for you. glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 5, 2006 Updated: May 17, 2006Cloudy golden with big white head. Couldn’t pick up much aroma....Good bitter hop taste with the corn(I think?) coming on strong. Plenty of taste in this, not very light. Very sweet. Not bad.
