| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger: Pours a pale golden with a collapsing white head. Has a fresh aroma- lots of fresh ginger, with an underlying lemon zest and peppery saaz notes. The body is light and crisp. The fore flavor is a solid punch of fresh ginger- very fresh and natural. The spiciness is followed by a quick biscuity base and a late flowery note. The finish is peppery with saaz dryness. I love that they incorporated the spices with a Pilsner. Interesting and solid. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Very pale straw coloured brew topped by a thick white head. Aroma is lightly herbal and grassy. There is a kiss of a slightly vegetal (pumpkin?) character but it is quite subtle. As it warms, this comes up a bit along with a kiss of ginger/clove and light pumpkin. Flavour however, shows a nice noble hop flavour. Fairly yeasty and a bit lemony. Further warming pulls up a bit of light spiciness that seems like a mix of spice and hops. Flavour is quite zesty with just a hint of something else. I thought this might be an overspiced pumpkin beer, but it’s really an exercise in restraint, producing a subtle twist on an otherwise pretty nice pils. BillKismet (1941), Seattle, Washington, USA

Easy pilsner understated malt aroma and flavor with dash of pumpkin. Unfortunately, ginger is undetectable, because it would have spruced up this beer nicely. Bit of sulfur and sourness on finish. Re-rate 10/10/09 - This improved markedly since my last tasting and was a highlight for many that I talked to for the 2009 Elysian Pumpkin Brew Fest. Stronger malt backpone and nice gingery underpinning. glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA

Ginger in the taste with a nice spicy hop finish. Thick for a pilsner. I really didn’t think I’d like this "pumpkin pilsner", but I love it. Worked well for me. Lasting thin white foamy head and clear amber body. Nose of catnip, ginger. Very ginger flavour. Nice switch-up beer at this festival. Oakes (8093), gone rambling, Vietnam
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Hazy blond kind of like Christoffel. Pale malt nose with light ginger. Extra ginger - the assertive ginger is a riot, the hoppy snap is fun...nice brew. So untraditional but yet so tasty, even when viewed as a pils (which nominally it is intended to be).
